Located just a short drive from St. Marys on the stunning east coast of Tasmania, lies St. Patricks Head. Rising 694m (2,277ft) above sea level, hikers will be treated to an extended view of the east coast to the north, the rolling hills of Tasmania to the west and south and the sky disappearing beyond the Tasman Sea to the east. Allow at least half an hour to soak up the view and to explore the peak and if you’re lucky enough, you may be able to spot the famous Wedge Tailed Eagle soaring. It should be noted exposed cliffs are at the peak, and there can be substantial wind. Caution should be taken when climbing in inclement weather.
