The Trail

The Silver Falls track is a short and enjoyable stroll for walkers of any ability, shaded by lush eucalypts and ferns for its entirety. Leaving from opposite the Fern Tree Tavern the walk follows the historic Pipeline Track for just under  1km before diverting slightly uphill at the Fern Tree Bower towards the falls. A short climb later the small but lovely falls are reached. Follow the same route to return.

Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) is a must see while visiting Tasmania.  Located within the Moorilla winery in Hobart the art gallery is world class.  The museum was funded by David Walsh who has made his furtune by developing a gambling system used to bet on horse racing and other sports.

Salamanca Market is a street market in Salamanca Place, Hobart, Tasmania. It is a major tourist attraction in Tasmania, and is held on Saturdays between 8.30am and 3.00pm.

Tas Trails


One of the most accessible, and beloved, waterfalls in Tasmania is Russell Falls, situated within the Mount Field National Park, 30 minutes past New Norfolk. The path to the Falls is sealed and suitable for wheelchairs or strollers, only taking 20 minutes to complete the 600m circuit. 10 minutes further past Russell Falls, via a steep track, are the gorgeous Horseshoe Falls, a fantastic highlight of the Mount Field National Park.
